                    [post_content] => A spacious, light, modern comfortable villa, sleeping up to six in three bedrooms (2 doubles and 1 twin), with heated pool in Laroque des Alberes, France, is in a quiet residential area near the edge of a typically Catalan village and enjoys views of the mountains, the old fort in Laroque and over the plain to the sea.

From the front door there is a small entrance hall leading on the ground floor to a large, bright and light, open plan lounge/diner/kitchen.

The lounge has comfortable sofas and arm chairs, television (French and UK channels by satellite/internet) and DVD player. For winter there is a cosy log burning stove.

The dining area has a dining table with seating for 8 people, and a storage unit containing the crockery and cutlery, and also a selection of books, DVDs, games etc. Patio doors lead to the terraces, garden and pool.

The fully equipped fitted kitchen has oven, microwave, electric hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, blender, coffee-maker, kettle and toaster etc and cupboard space. The washing machine, iron & ironing board etc is in a separate room. Between the kitchen and the dining area is a granite breakfast bar, with additional bar-stool seating.

We have recently created a second indoor sitting area which is separate from the main lounge.

The downstairs double bedroom, with king-size double bed (160cmX200cm), has french windows to the garden and a large en suite shower room with enclosed shower cubicle, basin, bidet and WC.

There is also a separate WC downstairs, off the hallway.

Upstairs is a (double aspect) double bedroom with king-size double bed (160cmX200cm) and patio doors to a jasmine-covered balcony with lovely views of the Alberes Hills, Mount Canigou in the Pyrenees and across the plain towards the sea.

The twin bedroom is upstairs and overlooks the pool with views of the old village, the Alberes hills and across the plain to the sea.

The family bathroom is also upstairs and has bath with shower over, basin, bidet and WC.

All the bedrooms have plenty of storage space, with wardrobes, bedside cabinets and chests of drawers. They are all equipped with floor standing oscillating fans and have shutters to keep cool in the summer.

For the winter months. as well as the log burning stove, there are electric radiators throughout the property.

**This is an air-conditioned villa: the house has been equipped with reversible air-conditioning. Reversible air conditioning allows the house to be cooled in summer and heated in winter.

The Private Swimming Pool
We have a private 'in-ground' heated swimming pool in the garden for guests exclusive use. It is 4mX7m, with depth from 0.9m to 1.5m, and has corner steps down at the shallow end making getting in and out very easy. It is surrounded by a paved terrace for sunbathing on the loungers provided.

The pool uses salt water, so uses less chemicals and is sometimes considered milder to the skin than a chlorine based pool. Pool maintenance is carried out at least once a week (depending on the weather) so guests don't need to worry about it.

The pool has a security cover to comply with the strict French swimming pool laws. Children must always be supervised by a responsible adult when the cover is open, and the cover must be closed when the pool is not in use. Our pool cover is electrically operated which takes the hard work out of opening and closing it, unlike manual covers!

The pool is generally available from Easter until the end of October. (Startup at the beginning of the season is weather dependent, but we expect it to be operational from Easter. The pool will be winterised at the end of October, but weather permitting this may be delayed if requested.)

The Garden
From the lounge patio doors lead to the terraces and fully enclosed and private garden planted with fruit trees (lemon, apricot, kumquat, plums, pomegranite, figs, olives etc) , grape vines a palm tree and other typical Mediterranean plants. Guests are welcome to pick and eat any fruit from the garden as it ripens.

Garden furniture is provided - a table and chairs for outdoor dining, and loungers and side tables for relaxing and sunbathing at the pool or on the terraces.

The garden is very sunny, but it is possible to find shady spots. Part of one of the terraces has a roof, so there is a covered and shady area for outdoor eating in the heat of summer.

The garden is enclosed by a medium height wall and a hedge, so is very private. The small entrance gate is lockable (we provide guests with the key).

There is off-street parking for 1 car on the driveway (and plenty of on-street parking in the very quiet road if you have more than one car).

For a family holiday in Laroque des Alberes
For a family holiday two travel cots are available, for babies or young children, and one high chair. Each bedroom is big enough to accommodate a travel cot. All the bedrooms have shutters which act as blackout blinds when fully closed, or can be adjusted to let some light through. A small bed guard/rail which can be attached to a single bed is also available, and there is a (small) child-sized armchair in the lounge. We now have two removable stairgates which can be provided on request for the top and bottom of the stairs - please ask. We are also now able to provide, on request, a bottle sterilliser for use in the microwave, electric nightlight, a baby bath, a potty and electrical socket covers.

                    [post_content] => The gite is set at the rear of an acre of park and grounds with its own private garden and has a completely separate entrance to the main (owners) house. Sitting on your sun lounger on the gite's own pool-terrace you could be forgiven for thinking you were miles from anywhere. In fact you will be 200m from the heart of the village with its shops, bar and facilities.

The 12m x 4.5m heated indoor pool sits between the gite and the barns of the manor house. In the summer both ends of the pool room are opened up to the gardens. You can relax on the terrace in the sun knowing the kids wont burn while they play in the pool. Or vice-versa!

The gite entrance takes you into the kitchen/dining area with a large table and seating for 8 . The kitchen is newly equipped including 2 fridges, dishwasher, toaster, microwave, butler sink and a range cooker with 5 gas rings and 2 electric ovens. There is a generous set of cutlery, crockery and all the cooking equipment you should need. The kitchen window opens out to the sunlounger area - perfect for passing emergency drinks!

Following through from the dining area there is a separate cupboard housing the washing machine and cleaning stuff, keeping them away from small children. The downstairs shower room and wc are at the end of this corridor with a modern wet-room style shower, wc and hand basin. Finally on the ground floor is the lounge with sofa, 2 chairs and a giant bean-bag. The TV is set up for UK satellite channels and there is a DVD player with a selection of childrens DVDs.

Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms all decorated and furnished with high quality bed linen to give a light, airy and relaxing feel.

Bedroom 1. Double bed (160 x 200), wardrobe, dressing table, bedside tables and drawers. Window overlooking main garden and park area.

Bedroom 2. Double bed (160 x 200, or 2 singles on request), wardrobe, bedside tables and drawers. Window overlooks barn and sun-lounger terrace.

Bedroom 3. Large room with sloping ceiling - 2 single beds, cupboard, bedside tables and drawers. Windows overlooking both aspects.

The family bathroom upstairs includes a wc, hand basin and full size bath with shower. A velux window above the bath allows you to star-gaze while having your soak. Big, quality towels are provided.

The interior offers a fully equipped kitchenette, bathroom with shower, as well as a zen-inspired sleeping area and living space, separated with bamboo screens.

Domaine de La Flotte, an estate situated on the 'Col de La Flotte' where you have a beautiful view of the Pyrenees, is an oasis of quiet, wooded hills and meadows. You can make magnificent walks here and enjoy the unspoilt nature or explore the surroundings on a mountain-bike. You can hire one of the horses and go for a ride in the hillside, with guide Manuel.

You can make use of the (shared) swimming pool (round, 6 m) or go to one of the nearby lakes: Lac Montbel or Lac de Puivert, where you can swim, surf, sail or hire a pedalo.

                    [post_content] => Le Portal Neuf, a terraced house in a quiet street with little passing traffic situated in the Langeudoc village of Bizanet. There are three bedrooms on the ground floor, one double, one twin and one single. There is also a large bathroom with shower and wash basin and a closet in which a washing machine. Separate w.c. A wooden stair case leads to the upper floor, and directly into a large vaulted lounger diner with exposed beams. Also on this level is the kitchen, (with fridge freezer, microwave and full cooker), the 140 sq. ft. terrace and a second w.c.

The upstairs lounge is quite large with wooden beams, it has a dinning table large enough for 6 people, a sitting area with 'click clak' sofa and two armchairs, and a television that receives English TV and radio programs.

French windows lead from the lounge onto the terrace which is 140 sq. ft. in size and large enough for all the family to enjoy al fresco meals in the sun. The terrace is accessed directly from the kitchen and from patio doors in the lounge.

This stone built, 3 bedroomed terraced house for rent in the Languedoc region of France is situated in a small village called Bizanet, between Narbonne and Lezignan Corbieres in the department of Aude. Its location makes it ideal for touring the area. Spain is only 45 minutes away and the Medieval castle of Carcassonne is just over half an hour. The recently renovated village house sleeps up to 6 people comfortably.
We allow pets (normally dogs) by prior arrangement.

The house is situated on a short distance from the main building and from the stables. It has 2 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom/WC, a well-equipped modern kitchen and a living room with TV/SAT. The large doors lead to the sheltered terrace (with barbecue), with view to the stables and into the trees. The horses kept on the 'domaine' would love to take you for a ride into the beautiful mountainside.

Domaine de La Flotte, an estate situated on the 'Col de La Flotte' where you have a beautiful view of the Pyrenees, is an oasis of quiet, wooded hills and meadows. You can make magnificent walks here and enjoy the unspoilt nature or explore the surroundings on a mountain-bike. You can hire one of the horses and go for a ride in the hillside, with guide Manuel.

You can make use of the (shared) swimming pool (round, 6 m) or go to one of the nearby lakes: Lac Montbel or Lac de Puivert, where you can swim, surf, sail or hire a pedalo.

The villa is beautifully furnished and sleeps 4. Situated with open views of an ancient ruined castle and rolling vineyards yet just a short walk to the local village.
The Villa was built a few years ago, it is now maturing beautifully into it's surroundings and was loved by all who stayed there last year. The villa is fully furnished with comfortable seating for 4 adults inside or out in the living, dining and patio areas. There is satellite TV showing the main UK channels in addition to about 50 other channels, a DVD player if you wish to bring DVD's and also a Bose sound-dock to play your ipod. The villa also enjoys WiFi internet access. As it is built on a sloping site the villa is entered at first floor level. There is an open plan staircase down to the very spacious living / dining area. The open plan kitchen, fully equipped with fridge, freezer, oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine adjoins this room. The master bedroom with large double bed and ensuite shower room is a mezzanine floor partially above this area and there is a further twin bedroom and house bathroom on the upper floor. There are South facing doors opening onto the comfortably furnished, very private patio and pool area with sun loungers for lazy days, a table and chairs for al fresco dining and a large parasol for when the sun is a little too strong
Durban Corbieres is superbly situated to make the most of the fascinating and varied landscape of Languedoc, from the 300 km of unspoilt beaches stretching from the Cote d'Azur to the Spanish border, over 40 of which have blue flag status, to the medieval castles of the Cathars. Not forgetting of course some of the best wine growing regions in France.

Superb Climate: Daytime temperatures in summer average 30 degrees and 20 degrees at night, making it just about the perfect climate for a holiday. This region boasts over 300 sunny days a year with an annual average of 22 degrees, great for a week away from the hustle and bustle at any time of year.

Activities: The Cathar Way long distance footpath passes through Durban Corbieres and explores all the main Cathar sites or for the less ambitious there are a multitude of walks through the vineyards enjoying the scents of the juniper, wild thyme, rosemary and lavender which grow in the wild garrigae landscapes of the region. An unmissable Languedoc experience is to walk, boat or cycle along the tree lined Canal du Midi which passes just a few miles from Durban Corbieres. The more active can find everything from tennis to kite surfing on the lagoons at Leucate. As little as 70 miles away is the Pyrenean ski centre of Formigueres which has an enviable reputation for reliable snow and beautiful sunny weather.

The gite comprises the ground-floor part of a converted winery on a working wine Domaine set in 3 acres on a Cobieres mountainside. It has stunning views, gardens, a small wine-producing vineyard and pine forest. A log burning stove and background heating makes it suitable for off-season lets. 
The interior features original stonewalling, open plan dining area, well equipped American-style kitchen, and lounge with patio doors leading to furnished patio area. Tastefully furnished with period and modern furniture it has a romantic double bedroom, and a second bedroom which can accommodate 2 further guests. The gite has its own independent road access which assures guests' privacy. 
Guests are welcome to share the superb saline heated pool, [11 x 5.5 metres], it enjoys the sun for the whole day! Benefitting those wishing to take holidays outside the normal spring/summer seasons. It is of constant 1.5 metre depth with Roman steps for ease of access. The pool also offers magnificent views across the surrounding countryside.
A high-walled courtyard contains a separate spring and small stream an original wine press and collecting vessels. 
Views from the house and gardens extend across the vineyards and valley to the distant hills, chateaux and mountains. 
All of the grounds are available for use. Within the pine forest is a shaded arbor for picnics or meals. Behind the house the unoccupied hillsides and forests cater for the more energetic walkers.
The accommodation is not suitable for children or pets and is non-smoking.

            [post_content] => A spacious, light, modern comfortable villa, sleeping up to six in three bedrooms (2 doubles and 1 twin), with heated pool in Laroque des Alberes, France, is in a quiet residential area near the edge of a typically Catalan village and enjoys views of the mountains, the old fort in Laroque and over the plain to the sea.

From the front door there is a small entrance hall leading on the ground floor to a large, bright and light, open plan lounge/diner/kitchen.

The lounge has comfortable sofas and arm chairs, television (French and UK channels by satellite/internet) and DVD player. For winter there is a cosy log burning stove.

The dining area has a dining table with seating for 8 people, and a storage unit containing the crockery and cutlery, and also a selection of books, DVDs, games etc. Patio doors lead to the terraces, garden and pool.

The fully equipped fitted kitchen has oven, microwave, electric hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, blender, coffee-maker, kettle and toaster etc and cupboard space. The washing machine, iron & ironing board etc is in a separate room. Between the kitchen and the dining area is a granite breakfast bar, with additional bar-stool seating.

We have recently created a second indoor sitting area which is separate from the main lounge.

The downstairs double bedroom, with king-size double bed (160cmX200cm), has french windows to the garden and a large en suite shower room with enclosed shower cubicle, basin, bidet and WC.

There is also a separate WC downstairs, off the hallway.

Upstairs is a (double aspect) double bedroom with king-size double bed (160cmX200cm) and patio doors to a jasmine-covered balcony with lovely views of the Alberes Hills, Mount Canigou in the Pyrenees and across the plain towards the sea.

The twin bedroom is upstairs and overlooks the pool with views of the old village, the Alberes hills and across the plain to the sea.

The family bathroom is also upstairs and has bath with shower over, basin, bidet and WC.

All the bedrooms have plenty of storage space, with wardrobes, bedside cabinets and chests of drawers. They are all equipped with floor standing oscillating fans and have shutters to keep cool in the summer.

For the winter months. as well as the log burning stove, there are electric radiators throughout the property.

**This is an air-conditioned villa: the house has been equipped with reversible air-conditioning. Reversible air conditioning allows the house to be cooled in summer and heated in winter.

The Private Swimming Pool
We have a private 'in-ground' heated swimming pool in the garden for guests exclusive use. It is 4mX7m, with depth from 0.9m to 1.5m, and has corner steps down at the shallow end making getting in and out very easy. It is surrounded by a paved terrace for sunbathing on the loungers provided.

The pool uses salt water, so uses less chemicals and is sometimes considered milder to the skin than a chlorine based pool. Pool maintenance is carried out at least once a week (depending on the weather) so guests don't need to worry about it.

The pool has a security cover to comply with the strict French swimming pool laws. Children must always be supervised by a responsible adult when the cover is open, and the cover must be closed when the pool is not in use. Our pool cover is electrically operated which takes the hard work out of opening and closing it, unlike manual covers!

The pool is generally available from Easter until the end of October. (Startup at the beginning of the season is weather dependent, but we expect it to be operational from Easter. The pool will be winterised at the end of October, but weather permitting this may be delayed if requested.)

The Garden
From the lounge patio doors lead to the terraces and fully enclosed and private garden planted with fruit trees (lemon, apricot, kumquat, plums, pomegranite, figs, olives etc) , grape vines a palm tree and other typical Mediterranean plants. Guests are welcome to pick and eat any fruit from the garden as it ripens.

Garden furniture is provided - a table and chairs for outdoor dining, and loungers and side tables for relaxing and sunbathing at the pool or on the terraces.

The garden is very sunny, but it is possible to find shady spots. Part of one of the terraces has a roof, so there is a covered and shady area for outdoor eating in the heat of summer.

The garden is enclosed by a medium height wall and a hedge, so is very private. The small entrance gate is lockable (we provide guests with the key).

There is off-street parking for 1 car on the driveway (and plenty of on-street parking in the very quiet road if you have more than one car).

For a family holiday in Laroque des Alberes
For a family holiday two travel cots are available, for babies or young children, and one high chair. Each bedroom is big enough to accommodate a travel cot. All the bedrooms have shutters which act as blackout blinds when fully closed, or can be adjusted to let some light through. A small bed guard/rail which can be attached to a single bed is also available, and there is a (small) child-sized armchair in the lounge. We now have two removable stairgates which can be provided on request for the top and bottom of the stairs - please ask. We are also now able to provide, on request, a bottle sterilliser for use in the microwave, electric nightlight, a baby bath, a potty and electrical socket covers.
